Masahiro SAMEJIMA Attorney/Patent Attorney

Masahiro has experienced the combined areas of technology, business, and law. He started his career as an engineer at Fujikura Ltd. in 1985, where he researched and developed materials of electric cable. He passed the Patent Attorney Examination in 1991 and joined IBM Japan as a patent attorney in 1992, where he developed intellectual asset management, contributed to obtaining patents on Nobel Prize inventions, and was awarded “Special Contribution Prize”. He passed the Bar Examination in Japan in 1996 and joined the Legal Training and Research Institute in 1997. As an attorney, he joined Ohba & Ozaki Law Firm in 1999 and Law Firm of Matsuo & Kosugi in 2000. In 2004, he founded Uchida & Samejima Law Firm with Hiroshi. He currently focuses on advising manufacturers in the combined area of technology and law, on advising business laws to IT corporations, and on providing intellectual property management consultation to technology corporations.
He graduated from Tokyo Institute of Technology (Bachelor of Metallic Engineering) in 1985. He has been appointed as a president of many government committees in the area of intellectual property. He authorized numerous books and articles such as “The Handbook of Patent Strategy” and “The Guidance to Legal Matters for System Engineers.”
